Salvador, Brazil

In Brazil capoeira is to the children of Brazil’s inner city slums what boxing was to the East End. It is a legitimate way to learn self defence and to develop a sense of community.

Grupo de Capoeira Ginga e Malicia (GCGM) uses Capoeira to develop a sense of social responsibility amongst children from the favelas. Initiated by Master Marinheiro, GCGM provides stability and opportunities away from the streets.
